If you need to make a presentation or collaborate with other users on a project, then you will definitely find Mikogo to be a useful utility. It enables you to share your desktop almost instantly and to allow other users to control your machine remotely. Also, the application supports phone and VoIP calls, file sharing and more. You can install it like any other lightweight Mac OS X application, by simply extracting a file to your Applications folder.

Mikogo's simple design allows you to work in a comfortable and efficient manner. The application's compact user interface displays a series of options, on separate tabs, for starting a sharing session, logging into an online account and more. If you start a new collaboration session, you can choose to share a live view of your desktop and nothing else or to allow other users to control your machine.

Joining an existing session doesn't require anything more than typing in its corresponding ID and clicking a button. Once you are connected, a live view of the remote desktop will show up on a new window, on which you can also move windows or perform other operations, as if you were right in front of the remote computer. The best part is that Mikogo is cross-platform, which means that you may view or control remote machines, regardless if they are running Windows or Mac.

Besides controlling a computer, during a session, users can also make annotations, through drawings, text, notes and so on, exchange files or chat, using short text messages or by making voice calls. Furthermore, the host user can decide to give control to specific users, to pause the session, lock it and more.

Pros

You can share your desktop with multiple users at the same time. The application allows you to text chat or make voice calls during a session. Its controls are well organized on a compact user interface and they are very easy to understand.

Cons

There are no serious design flaws to mention. Regardless if you need to collaborate with multiple co-workers on a project or help someone with a computer-related problem, Mikogo will make your work much easier.
